I built this site as a fun web dev project that brings my love for surfing and coding together. There's some info on where to surf, take lessons, and buy surf gear around New York.
I also included some songs and videos for a more immersive experience and some inspiration to get you pumped to ride some waves.

A young or inexperienced surfer. Usually a child who's learning to surf.

Riding a longboard with both feet on the nose of the board.

A shark!
foamie
A longboard made of foam. Great surfboard type for beginners.
barrel
Where the wave is hollow while it's breaking. Also called a tube.
party wave
A wave surfed by several people at once.
line up
The place just outside breaking waves where surfers wait for their turn.
pop up
Going from lying on the surfboard to standing in position to ride a wave.
